PARTICOLARI. Fantasia per flauto (basso e piccolo) e piano (2025)

A particular is a unique, single, concrete thing in time and space. In music, a particular is, for example, the performance of a musical work. When the creation and performance of a musical work occur at the same time, it is called a composition in real time, or improvisation. When creating a score, the composer describes the musical work as an abstract thing; a musical work recorded in a score cannot be a particular.

As a composer, I have always been interested in the nature of the musical particular, which is both strictly limited and represents an infinite number of both present and absent qualities. The flute and piano fantasy Particulars could be seen as an attempt to explore this nature.
