Jealousy. Perfidy. Compassion. The intrigue is conveyed by the masterful music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Vitellia, the

daughter of the former emperor Vitellius, uses her admirer Sesto, the best friend of Tito, in a bitter plot to assassinate the

beloved Emperor Tito, who does not return her affections. Fire and turmoil lead the story towards a surprising conclusion.

This fascinating opera was first performed on 6 September 1791 in Prague, just three months before the composer’s death in

December 1791.

Performed in Italian.
